About Power Ballad

Power Ballad stars Paul Rudd as Rick, a wedding singer whose best days may be behind him. When he meets Danny, a fading boy-band star, during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session.

But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves — even if it means risking everything he cares about.

Directed by John Carney, Power Ballad brings together music, comedy and an all-star cast for an entertaining evening of cinema.

About Robe Cinema

The screening follows the roaring success of previous Robe Cinema events, which have featured films including Kneecap, Mrs. Robinson, That They May Face the Rising Sun and An Cailín Ciúin. The screenings have helped establish a growing local tradition of bringing exciting cinema to audiences in Ballinrobe and the surrounding area.

Robe Cinema has also brought audiences the opportunity to meet some of the people behind the films. Previous evenings have welcomed actors including Seán McGinley, Fionnuala Flaherty and Andrew Bennett for cosy Q&As and photographs with audiences on the night.
