Mick Donnellan’s acclaimed plays now available for amateur and professional production through the Drama League of Ireland

Donnellan’s writing conveys rural Irish turns of phrase and behaviour patterns with striking authenticity...” Irish Theatre Magazine.

I am thrilled to announce that several of my plays are now accessible for both amateur and professional production through the esteemed platform of the Drama League of Ireland. It brings me immense joy to see my works made available to theatre enthusiasts and companies alike, and I am eager to witness the creative interpretations that will emerge from these productions.

The plays now available for production include:

  1. Sunday Morning Coming Down (Sold out Irish Tour 2011)
  2. Shortcut to Hallelujah (Sell out show -loosely based around Curse on the Mayo team.)
  3. Velvet Revolution (Galway Fringe pick of the Week by Irish times.)
  4. Radio Luxembourg (adapted for screen as Tiger Raid)
  5. Nally (Rural crime/isolation -produced as Youtube performance during the Lockdown)
  6. Checkpoint Charlie (Latest Play – 2024 – gathering strong interest.)

These plays have had tremendous success in Ireland and around the world and I am excited to see them brought to life on stage by talented performers and directors. I believe they offer a wealth of creative opportunities for exploration and interpretation, and I look forward to witnessing the unique voices and perspectives that will emerge through these productions.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Drama League of Ireland for their collaboration in making this possible. Their dedication to fostering theatrical excellence and promoting the arts is commendable, and I am honoured to have my works included in their repertoire.
